“Invoice ≠ price board”: one card, 2 brands, €836 in 12 days
- Situation
The invoice has 270+ lines. Comparing card and pole prices by hand is impractical.
- What we did
We matched every fill in 19–30.06.2026 with the same station and time.
- Method
Price history at 30-minute intervals; only exact station and time matches.
- Result
- ARAL and Shell: +22 ct/l over the pole price.
- About 1.93 €/l at 35 stations, while poles showed 1.64–1.77 €/l.
- In 12 days: €836 on 3,795 l; up to €1,202 with motorways.
- Other brands: -3.8 ct/l. Second card: -8.2 ct/l.
- Truck network: -13.1 ct/l gross.
- What the client did
The client removed this card from 2 brands and shifted volume to cheaper networks.
Honest limitation: 27 % of card volume was verified using reliable matches only.
“The 45-cent discount that does not exist”
- Situation
A supplier promised “up to 45 cents per litre off”.
- What we did
We compared it with street prices, the current card and the fleet's routes.
- Method
We separated net and gross and checked stops within 10 km.
- Result
- Of the “45 cents”, 28.5 cents are VAT. The real discount is 11–12 %.
- The ceiling versus the current card is 6 ct/l. Of 297 stops, 39 were cheaper: 13 %.
- Within 10 km: 19 % of stops. The detour removes 19 % of the gain.
- What the client did
The client kept the programme only in 2 regions where it was on route.
This calculation counted against our deal. The figures came first.
1,066 litres of “siphoning” turned into 106 — and that is good news
- Situation
In 90 days: 28 events totalling 1,066 litres.
- What we did
Every event was checked before speaking to a driver.
- Method
Both tanks, a −6 to +24 hour window, card data and sensor diagnostics.
- Result
Three causes emerged:
- Theft: 2 vehicles, about 106 l; 7.7–10.7 l/h and 33 l in 10 minutes.
- Yard issue: 6 vehicles, 6 drivers and 300–375 l at one site.
- Sensors: a false 202 l event and 2 more vehicles after a 437 l fill.
- What the client got
Proven theft, a yard issue and 4 sensors for repair — with no false accusations.

“Midday costs money”

Since 01.04.2026 fuel prices in Germany rise once a day — at midday.

We compared our measurement with Bundeskartellamt data.

A network snapshot every 30 minutes.

- Bundeskartellamt: +7.3 % at noon; 87.5 % of rises in 11:50–12:10; 80 % gone by 18:00.
